How to write in an online diary
Write what's on your mind. That's really it.Writing in an online diary works the same as a paper diary. Open it, write about your day or whatever's in your head, close it. The digital version just adds convenience – you can search old entries, sync across devices, and protect it with a password.
What to write
Anything. There's no right answer. Some ideas:
- What happened today
- How you're feeling
- Something you're thinking through
- Things you don't want to forget
- Goals or plans
When you don't know what to write
Try one of these prompts:
- "Today I learned..."
- "If I could change one thing about today..."
- "My biggest challenge right now is..."
- "Something I'm grateful for..."
Don't edit, just write
The goal isn't polished prose. It's getting thoughts out of your head and onto the screen. Write messy. Don't fix typos. Keep moving forward. You can always clean it up later if you want – but you probably won't even want to.
Building the habit
Write at the same time each day – with your morning coffee, or before bed. Even one sentence counts. If you miss a day, just pick back up tomorrow. The habit survives small gaps.
